LUTHERAN WOMEN’S MISSIONARY LEAGUE MITE BOX LITANY – Oct 2023 –
Grant #14 - Pastors, Vicars and Lay Ministers Wives’ Retreat $4,000
Leader: Each year, wives of our Pastors, Vicars and Lay Ministers of the Oklahoma District meet together for a Retreat. This retreat is designed to enrich and enable these women to be active and effective witnesses of Jesus Christ in their everyday lives. The Retreat also provides an opportunity for networking, bonding, spiritual growth, and support amongst each other. A grant of $4,000 has helped provide funding to support the 2022 and 2023 Retreats.
People: Heavenly Father, we thank You for all the women through history that You have appointed to walk alongside the leaders of Your church.
Leader: From the rising of the sun to its setting.
People: The name of the Lord is to be praised.
Leader: Lord, we ask You to look with favor upon and bless these women of the Oklahoma District who serve alongside our Pastors, Vicars and Lay Ministers as their wives. We thank and praise You for blessing these women with leadership and wisdom. We pray that You continue to strengthen their faith and direct and protect them always.
People: A wife builds up the ministry that her husband has been called to do. She is a light when things may seem dim and she serves as his sounding board and encourager. She steps out faithfully with him to serve.
Leader: Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God shines forth.
People: Our God shall reign; He does not keep silent.
Leader: A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life. Proverbs 31:10 – 12
People: Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.
1 Thessalonians 5:11
Leader: Almighty and most merciful Father, we rejoice with thankful hearts that You have blessed our Oklahoma District Pastors, Vicars and Lay Ministers with faithful wives to serve You alongside them. We thank You for Your great goodness in bringing these, Your sons and daughters, to the knowledge of Your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ and enabling them to believe, and with the mouth to confess God’s saving name. Grant that, bringing forth the fruits of faith, they may continue steadfast and victorious to the day when all who have fought the good fight of faith shall receive the crown of righteousness. Through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord.
